Our Classic Week in Kerala tour progam covers the popular highlights of Cochin, Munnar, Thekkady, and the backwaters of Kumarakom. We can further customize this program based on the requirements.
Day 01 – Cochin arrival
We will meet you on arrival in Cochin and transfer you to the hotel. Later, proceed on a city tour covering the Mattancherry Palace, a Jewish Synagogue, Chinese fishing nets and the local spice market. Watch a traditional dance form of Kerala called the Kathakali dance. Later in the evening you will be dropped back to the hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 02 – Cochin to Munnar
Checkout and proceed to the scenic hill station of Munnar, which derives its name from the confluence of the three rivers around which the town grew. Today Munnar offers excellent climate, beautiful sights, cardamom, tea and spice plantations, glimpses of several endangered species and the unique purple blue Neelakurinji flowers that bloom once every 12 years. On arrival, check in at the hotel and spend your evening at leisure. Enjoy your dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03 – Munnar
Drive to the Eravikulam National Park, home to several elusive and endangered species. A good place for trekking and stunning views of the tea plantations. Proceed to the Tea Museum, which gives an insight into the history of tea plantations of Munnar. You also visit Mattupetty Dam, Eco Point and the Flower Garden. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 04 – Munnar to Thekkady
Checkout and drive to Thekkady. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Thekkady is known for its scenic hills, rich biodiversity and spice plantations. The Periyar National Park is located here. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise on Periyar Lake. Evening watch the traditional Kalari show with its impressive display of martial arts and fire performances. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 05 – Thekkady to Kumarakom
Checkout and drive to Kumarakom, the much acclaimed backwaters of Kerala situated amidst the picturesque Vembanad Lake. Traditional country canoes and boats glide along the lake. Fresh water from the lake flows into the hinterland creating a network of lagoons, canals and waterways. Enjoy a boat ride in the Vembanad Lake. Return to the backwater resort for overnight stay.
Day 06 – Kumarakom
The full day is at leisure in Kumarakom. Walk through the surrounding villages, enjoy bird watching, etc the full day is yours. Stay overnight at the backwater resort in Kumarakom.
Day 07 – Depart from Cochin
Checkout and you will be transferred to Cochin International airport for your onward flight.
